The movie is adapted from a famous Japanese manga. 18-year-old Takumi delivers tofu in his father's near-obsolete car every day and becomes a good racer with perfect drifting skill. Encouraged by his father, he joins a mountain race and unexpectedly wins it, making him famous overnight and leading him from one exciting race to another.
