The story begins with a pair of siblings, Ah Mun and Ah Long who hate loan sharks because it causes the death of their father. They vowed to each other that if given an opportunity, they would like to eradicate these illegal activities but circumstances were against them as they both were somehow associated with these activities without making known to each other. Both had their own secrets and untold The Loan Sharks as to their involvement and it turns out that the siblings have to choose between justice and love.
As each character tries to solve present-day problems by reconciling perceived failures in past events, they discover that what they considered to be major sticking points in their personal histories either do not figure into the affected parties' lives as much as they thought they did, or are recollected in a very different way.

In this journey, Tripitaka meets Princess Xiaoshan (Fan Bingbing), who promises to help him save his disciples. Meiyan helps the Princess defeat the enemy and rescue Tripitaka and his disciples. A benevolent Buddha is moved by her effort and pardons the two, on the condition that they embank on a journey to the west to accomplish the Eighty-One Tasks to redeem themselves as well as to save the world!

Construction worker Ti (Stephen Chow) lives in a ramshackle shanty and scavenges everything from shoes to toys from the trash dump.
